In the Illinois Community
Our Chicago headquarters doesn’t only form part of the iconic Chicago Skyline; it has also been part of some of the most historical moments in our city’s recent history with its building lightings. We’ve been lighting up the skyline with messages for several years now, but it’s no secret that every year there are some lightings that garner more attention than others. Let’s take a look at the most popular lightings of 2016!
After School Matters celebrated 25 years and not only did we celebrate with them at their gala we also lit up our building with a special message in their honor. After School Matters is a non for profit that empowers teens and helps them achieve success during their high school years, and empowers them to dream big as they find their futures. This support was well received making this our third most liked and shared building lighting of 2016.
Every October we light up our building in honor of breast cancer awareness with a pink ribbon symbol and pink accent lights and year after year this lighting continues to be one of the most liked and shared lightings. This year photograph received more than 55 thousand likes and shared by 5 thousand more.
Now 2016 was a pretty big year for many Chicagoans since it was the year that saw the Chicago Cubs become the World Series Champs after 108 years! During the rollercoaster of emotions that was the World Series we lit up several messages rooting for the Cubs, and combined these images were liked by more than 100 thousand people and reached over one million social media users.
Keep an eye out for all the exciting lightings we have in store for 2017! These were only some of the most popular in 2016. Check out our Facebook Page for all the amazing 2016 lighting and share with us which one was your favorite!
