BCBSIL Volunteer of the Year Pays it Forward

Every year we recognize and celebrate our employees’ willingness to donate their time to help the communities we serve. The Blue Corps Volunteer of the Year award celebrates that dedication and our outstanding employee volunteers. This year we highlight the work and commitment Theresa Bates dedicated to our communities.

Meet Theresa Bates: our 2014 Volunteer of the Year! Theresa is a claims processor based out of our Marion office. She has logged over 2,000 hours as a member of our Blue Corps℠ volunteer  program, attending 670 events during her time with BCBSIL! For the past seven years, Theresa has served as Survivor Chair for the Franklin County Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society coordinating and organizing all aspects of the survivor activities. In addition to her work with the American Cancer Society, Theresa volunteers as a food bank worker with the Benton Ministerial Alliance frequently every month.
