Provider office. How can we get an actual costumer rep when we call? The IVR won't check specific codes, availity only gives the most basic coverage. That's fine for a hospital that people expect to pay out the ass at. Our clinic is a small town clinic and we like to check a patient's coverage BEFORE they're here so we can be upfront with them about what it will cost. We can't do that is the basic coverage is 20% co-insurance and we send it off only to find out that a code isn't covered and now they owe more than they budgeted for. This is honestly one of THE worst insurances to check coverage on, other insurances you can actually get to a rep.
Hello, You can see how to check on coverage on our website - https://www.bcbsil.com/provider/claims/claims-eligibility/eligibility-benefits ~ KW
Hey. That link actually just takes you to a page saying to try Availity or call the number that takes you to the IVR. And if you'd actually read my post you would know that I'm talking about specifics that those two things do not give details on.

To verify coverage for a specific service you can submit a predetermination request - www.bcbsil.com/.../predetermination. Our phone staff is not able to provide additional coverage information beyond what Availity and the IVR provide. ~ KW
