My father just recently passed away and BCBS wrote a check back to the estate of my father.  He doesn't have an estate, and told my mom to send the check back with a form in order to have the check reissued.  What form is it that we need to fill out to have this check reissued?

    Hello, First let me say I'm very sorry to hear about your father.

    Checks issued to a member who has passed away must be issued to the estate of that individual. We cannot issue the check to another individual. Your mother can check with her bank to see what she needs to do for them to be able to cash this check for her. ~ Kayla

      Same problem here. The bank will not accept a check made out to "Estate of" since there is no account with that wording. We have POA and are well under the limit for probate. If it were simply made out the the deceased, no problem. Can we get a check simply made out to the deceased?
