Are there hospitals outside of Illinois that are in-network for the Blue Choice Preferred PPO through BCBSIL? Or, would I not be able to get in-network benefits with this particular plan at hospitals outside of Illinois? The provider finder tool is unclear on this.
The provider (Mayo Clinic) keeps giving me a tax ID to check with BCBSIL because BCBSIL is the one who would be paying the claim. I've tried so many customer service lines for BCBSIL to no avail and no one can seem to help verify.
Yes, that is correct. However we do recommend verifying the network status with the provider prior to services being rendered. ~ Heather
I don't quite understand this response. Does this mean that BCBSIL Choice Preferred PPO purchased in the marketplace exchange would cover doctors who are displaying as in-network, but in a different state, qualify for in-network benefits?
