Is it too late to apply for coverage for January 2018?

I missed the deadline for Open Enrollment due to being overseas and because the BCBS website kept crashing on Dec 15.

Although still overseas, I called and called Customer Service hoping for some help, they kept bouncing me around from agent to agent, and my application was never submitted. I had to hang up after being on the phone for almost an hour and ended up with a ridiculous phone bill.

What can I do?!

  • Hello, If you had individual coverage with us for 2017 which is changing to a different plan for 2018 you may qualify for an extended enrollment period. You can contact our customer service department at the number on your ID card or through the Message Center on your Blue Access for Members account to verify if you are eligible for this.

    If you did not have coverage with us in 2017 or are not eligible for an extended enrollment period then unfortunately it is too late to enroll in coverage for 2018. ~ Kayla
