Welcome to our Diabetes Educational Series on Connect! We are excited to share with you some expert advice throughout this series that we hope can provide you with better education and guidance about managing and preventing diabetes. Check out this letter from our expert writer, Teresa Kunath RN as she introduces her series to us!
Hello, my name is Teresa Kunath. I will be your nurse “facilitator” for the next 15 weeks. Diabetes is preventable and manageable. I am here to help you with tools to be successful in your healthy journey and also to provide you with clinical information.
At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois we are greatly committed to serving our communities especially those who are highly susceptible to living with a chronic disease such as diabetes. It is our wish that the information provided in this series can help you prevent, manage and help you and your loved ones live a healthier lifestyle.
Chronic diseases and conditions—such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, obesity, and arthritis—are among the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems.
Our 15 week series will be conducted in English and Spanish.
