I paid for a full month premium to BCBS of IL for May '15 for my individual policy through the Exchange. (At the advice of BCBS I paid the full month premium directly to BCBS. I did not receive a 'subsidy' from the gov). I got married on May 15, 2015 and was picked up that day on to my wife's group policy with BCBS of IL. At the instruction of BCBS I called the exchange on May 15, 2015 to cancel my coverage. Now I'm hitting roadblocks with BCBS in getting my 1/2 month of Individual premium refunded to me. BCBS tells me to take it up with the Exchange and the Exchange tells me they won't change the cancellation date to anything but the last day of the month. So, BCBS has 1.5 months of premium from me for the month of May and I'm stuck. What should I do? Who should I talk to to get this overpayment refunded to me??
