Unable to login to previous account. Received emails, supposedly from BCBSIL. Are they legitimate

I recently received two emails from BCBSIL. BCBSIL was my supplemental medical insurance provider until Dec. 31, 2022. If I have existing claims, I am unable to login to my previous account using my previous login and password. How do I find out if I have existing claims? Or are the emails SPAM?
