Is there a way to find out in what tier your provider is? I have asked several of my providers in what tier they are, and most reply, "I don't know." Short of calling one of your many 800 numbers to ask BCBSIL directly before I make appointments, is there a way I can find this out myself? We had many Tier 1 providers with our former insurer, and their tiers were listed in the provider listings online. Can anyone help me do this? Thanks!
Hello, Not all of our plans require providers to be within particular tiers, so it is likely some providers are not registered this way with us. If your plan does have this requirement you can use the provider finder tool on our website, Find a Doctor or Hospital | Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (bcbsil.com), to search for providers based on their tiers. You can also contact customer service to verify this information for a provider if your plan is set up in this way. ~ Kayla
