Need information about how to contact provider services for questions about member benefits or claims.

I have been trying to contact customer service at BCBSIL and the automated phone system does not work. I am calling from a provider office and need to speak with someone. We have multiple patients with your plan and I am unable to speak with someone regarding prior authorizations, benefits, etc. How can I speak to a human being?

Hi- So sorry you've been having issues. I did some checking and we haven't had any reported outages with the phone lines. I'm not sure why you're experiencing this issue. If you could private message us with your contact information, I can have our provider area reach out to you directly. --Tonya

Renee... this is the # I have been calling for years but it no longer allows me to check on claim status. The only options now are "claims adjustment" or "mailing address" . Months prior to this, the recording was warning that claim status would only be available via Availity. Availity is wonderful for checking claim status, but sometimes you still need to speak to a rep. Am I missing something here?

Hi Joan, You are correct that this number no longer includes an option to inquire about claims. I do apologize for the confusion. If you would like to send us a private message with your phone number and the name of a person we can speak with we can have someone in our provider services area give you a call to discuss your EOB. ~ Kayla

I am from a provider office. I have been trying unsuccessfully to reach a human being regarding claims from December not being paid/or acknowledged. I do not understand how I can not talk to a human being. I have tried every way on the phone and even sent email to provider rep - all to no avail. Please let me know how a provider can talk to a person and what can I do to get a human to talk to me?
